Il Caffè Roma fu fondato nel dicembre 1934 dalla famiglia Berrino.

Successivamente, fu proprio un cliente affezionato, che in seguito divenne un caro amico del pittore Mario Berrino,
a  dare lo spunto per realizzare le piastrelle autografate che resero noto il Muretto sul quale per decenni
si svolse il concorso di bellezza (Miss Muretto). Si trattava di Ernest Hemingway.

Oggi come allora, il Muretto e il Caffè Roma sono rimasti il simbolo e una delle attrazioni principali di Alassio,
meta di turisti italiani e stranieri, dove si respira ancora l’atmosfera unica della bella vita del secolo scorso.

Caffè Roma was founded on December 1934 by Berrino Family.

After some years the history says that a loyal client and later on a very close friend of the famous peinter
Mario Berrino, looking at the wall in front of the Caffè, gave the fantastic idea to realize the autographed tiles.
From that moment the wall took the name of Muretto where, for decades, took place the beauty contest of Miss Muretto.

The loyal clientand good friends was Ernest Hemingway. Today, as the past, Muretto and Caffè Roma are the symbol
and the main attraction of Alassio, a destination for italian and foreign tourists, where tou can still feel
the unique atmosphere of the good life “Bella Vita” of the last century.
